Trains from London Kings Cross will take you to St Albans and trains from London Euston will stop in Watford and Hemel Hempstead. Any of the major roads heading north out of London will pass through Hertfordshire. London's 3rd airport at Stansted connects to many international destinations, and connects to the train services, offering connecetions to London or Cambridge.
