There are daily buses to the park from Chengdu, Songpan, and Huanglong National Park.

Fees/Permits

A single day entrance pass costs 220 RMB and bus pass costs 90 RMB per day for unlimited travel inside the park. Second day pass goes for the same price. The passes can be purchased at the front gate. During the off season, entrance ticket reduces to 80 RMB per day and there is an option to add a second day entry for additional 20 RMB. Bus pass during off peak season is 80 RMB per day.

Make sure if you get a two day pass that you go to the room next to the ticket booth and have your picture taken and printed on your ticket. If you don't you won't be able to reenter the park on the second day.

Get around

With a bus pass you can take a bus to dozens of sites within the park. Every few minutes a bus will come to a site to pick up passengers. Walking is a great option in the park, as wooden-plank trails cut through the lakes and forest and make for a relaxing jaunt. It is best to combine walking with taking the bus as the park is quite large and you won't be able to cover much ground on foot. Unfortunately bikes is not allowed in the park.

Lodging

There is lodging located in the park and in Jiuzhaigou city located on the street outside the entrance. There are dozens of high-priced hotels. For budget travelers the best option is the Jiutong Bingguan (________) located next to the bus station. Touts crowd around arriving buses and can lead you to alternative budget options.

Camping

No camping is allowed in the park.

Stay safe

The highest tourist destinations reach heights above 3,000 meters (10,000 feet) and altitude sickness is a possibility.

In the winter months the park is extremely cold and it is necessary to dress warm to prevent frostbite.

Chinese tourists dread standing in line and there is a lot of pushing and shoving getting on and off buses. Make sure you don't get pushed in front of an oncoming bus. Crowded trails can also be dangerous and if you walk on the edge of a path it is likely a shoulder or elbow with push you off.
