The '''Aegadian Islands'''[http://www.egadiweb.it/] (Italian: Isole Egadi) are a group of three islands about 10km west of Sicily in Italy.

The Islands

  • Favignana - the main island, well known for its beaches.
  • Levanzo - small, quiet and quite pretty.
  • Marettimo - the furthest away from Sicily, with fewer boats. Attractive and good for walks.

    By boat

The are car ferries and much quicker hydrofoils from Trapani on Sicily to the islands - lots in Summer, with fewer during Spring, Autumn and Winter and on ''Sundays''. For timetables see [http://www.siremar.it SIREMAR] and [http://www.usticalines.it Ustica Lines]

    Ferries run also from/to Marsala.

    By plane/Airports

  • The nearest airport is Trapani Birgi (TPS) at 14km.
  • Palermo airport is at 85km.
  • Get around

Levanzo and Marettimo are small enough to walk around. Most people hire bikes on Favignana to get to the beaches on the south coast.
