This picturesque walk follows the former 'Cuckoo Line' railway track and stretches from Eridge to Polegate. It passes through Heathfield, Horam, Hellingly and Hailsham.

The 11mile (16km) surfaced track through the Sussex countryside is a safe route for walkers, cyclists and horse-riders of all ages. An extension runs south from Polegate to Hampden Park in Eastbourne forming part of a National Cycle Network route. Benches and picnic tables along the way offer plenty of places to stop for a break.

the path links up with The forest way via an on road route, this is well signposted and uses mainly small country lanes, however it is quite hilly between the two tracks! It is possible to cycle to London from Eastbourne on the route 21 cycle path
