A town originally built as a service town during the gold rush. It was also the birthplace of Henry Lawson, who was a prolific and famous Australian poet. Not that he stayed there for long after he was born, or that he wrote about Grenfell all that much. Just the one poem, "Said Grenfell to my spirit". You can read it when you get there.
