There is an ADO bus station in the city. It is amongst other cities served from Catemaco, Veracruz and Villahermosa.
By car
San Andres Tuxtla is located on the Highway 180, about 3 hours from Veracruz city.
Get around
On foot
Walking around is no big deal downtown, but for larger distances it might be better with a taxi.
By taxi
You can find taxis, which offer four pricing levels. Beginning with MXN 13, it will become more the further away you want to go.
By bus
Also there are small busses ("camiones") which connect the parts of the city. Just ask for the destination or read the plates in the windshield.
See
Casa de Cultura. ernardo Pena. ew blocks near the market. Former this was only a cultural center. Now this is also used as a small museum, you can find pre-hispanic culture. But cultural events still happen to be here.
Museo Regional de San Andres Tuxtla. o fee. In this museum, first opened in the beginning of 2008, you can find some exhibits out of the area. Some inhabitants donated pieces never seen before.
Laguna Encantada. The lagoon is located a few minutes north of San Andres. The nature is undestroyed here. In the rain time the water level actually gets lower, and in the dry season it raises. On the first Friday of March the cave nearby is used for a ritual: The region gets blessed.

Small restaurants are all over the place and offer typical mexican food.
Mariscos Chazao. laza Allende. ocated in the street next to the parking lot of the Hotel del Parque. If you are looking for descent sea food, you can find some here.

Hotel Colonial. ino Suarez 7. lose to the Zocalo. 294) 942-0552. Very cheap hotel which is a little dirty. For the traveller with no money it is sufficient.
Hotel Catedral. ino Suarez 3. lose to the Zocalo. 294) 942-0237. This also offers some rooms to stay, not more.
Mid-range
Both of those hotels offer different prices depending if you want a room with clima or ventilator.
Hotel San Andres. adero 6. n front of Hotel Isabel. 294) 942-0604. Small hotel which is a little bit cheaper.
Hotel Isabel. adero 13. ext to Hotel del Parque. ttp://www.dematac.org/Hotel-Isabel-english.html. Nice hotel located at the Zocalo. Offers clean rooms and friendly staff. Has a restaurant.
Splurge
Hotel del Parque. adero 5. t the Zocalo. ttp://www.hoteldelparque.com/home.html. The obligatory well located, expensive hotel.

Get out
There is an ADO bus station in the city. It connects to all major and minor cities around. You can get to the beautiful, more touristic town Catemaco or to the harbour city Veracruz. Trips to Coatzacoalcos and Villahermosa are also available.
