Stay safe
Avoid pub crawling on friday and saturday nights. For a safe night out, Chorley is your best bet. Although Horwich is in general no more dangerous than other northern towns it has huge problems with juvenile delinquincy. Drunken yobs are sadly a common sight particularly around the pubs on Chorley New Road. If you must visit a pub The Bridge Inn and Joseph Holt (known locally as The Crown) both on Chorley Old Road are in general the safest and least rowdy. Police recently made Horwich into a dispersal zone giving them powers to disperse groups of people.
