'''Vezelay''' is a small town in Burgundy, a region of France which is southeast of Paris and north of Lyon. Its location is on top of a high hill. Its main claim to fame is as the home of a stupendous early Gothic cathedral, which is widely considered one of the greatest in Burgundy. A beautiful panorama of the surrounding Burgundian countryside is visible from the area to the right of the back of the cathedral.

Access to Vezelay is by well-maintained secondary roads. If you are driving, make sure to get a good map. Michelin puts out an excellent road atlas that will serve you well.

The easiest way to get in is by car. You will take a secondary route up the hill.

Get around

Once you have parked your car, you will get around on foot.

See

The fabulous Gothic cathedral, which also has Romanesque elements. As Vezelay is a small town and the Cathedral is in the center, you really can't miss it.
