The 7.9m tall '''Golden Gumboot''', which stands just outside of the main street. Built in 2003 by the Tully Lions and Rotary Clubs, the monument commemorates the towns 1950 rainfall level (7900mm), the Australian record. It operates as a museum, documenting past floods, as well as displaying the current rainfall for the year.
Also of interest are buildings of 1930's architecture which still today. A Sugar Mill runs tours.
