'''Cabo Polonio''' is a village in Rocha, Uruguay. The smattering of holiday cottages on the sand dunes, without electricity, water, sewerage is one of Urugays hidden gems. There is a hippie community living there and marihuana is more common than tobacco!
Get in
By bus from Rocha. From the bus stop, take a 4x4 vehicle (Ur$ 60 one way) to the village. There is no way to take private vehicles to Cabo Polonio.
It is possible to walk from Valizas the next town to the north through the sand dunes or along the beach to get to punta del diablo. The walk takes 3 or 4 hours and is quite pleasant.
