Visit the Memorial to Veterans of the Armed Services located within The Colony Five Star Complex. The concept of the Veteran's Memorial began in 2003, with The Colony Masonic Lodge #1451's commitment to recognize and honor all Veterans. Bricks around the cenotaph display Veterans of the past, present and future and consist of the name, rank, branch of the military, and years of service for both active personnel and honorably discharged veterans.
The sports, outdoor, and water bound enthusiast can find plenty to do in The Colony. You can take to the water on 23 miles of shoreline, choose from a selection of 23 municipal parks, or visit multiple attractions while enjoying a relaxing and scenic atmosphere in The Colony. Make sure to bring money, because if you want to find a safe place to have fun, you damn sure are going to pay for it.
Play golf on two of the "finest" golf courses in Texas (so they say) or visit Stewart Creek Park (bring money) and MarineQuest (bring money) at Hidden Cove (bring money) for camping, hiking, fishing, boating, swimming, or just unwinding in a scenic lake setting (or alligator/discarded appliance related research.)
Hawaiian Falls Water park (for about 20$ for entry per person, not including food and lockers)and The Colony Aquatic Park provide family fun in the summertime in The Colony for very young children, though, adults might find that the water park lacks a pool deeper than 4 feet. The aquatic park has no diving boards, and is useless for anything other than laps and geriatric aerobics classes so bring a noodle or something. Both attractions are open for about 5 months to the general public out of the year, because having fun in winter is ridiculous.
