  • This event is a competition of drum and bugle corps from across the nation and organized by the Ankeny Area Chamber of Commerce. *The corps are part of the Summer Music Games sponsored by Drum Corps International (DCI).

  • Mid-Iowa Band Championship

  • Held at the Ankeny High School Stadium in Ankeny, Iowa, is one of the most prestigious events of its kind. In its 19 years of existence, the contest has grown to include over 30 bands from as many as seven states. Each year, an audience of 5,000 to 7,000 people has been thrilled to see many of the Midwest's finest bands.
  • Participation is on an invitation basis with invitations issued to those seeking to participate in an event of this caliber. The four classes of competition are based upon school size and use a six-judge system including some of the finest input for participating bands available anywhere.
