Santa Lucia is a small village on the northern coast of Cuba. It is reached by a bus ride from Camaguay that lasts 1h 30m. Presently (2009) it has four hotels. The currency is CUC Cuba Covertibles and that are presently a little more costly than US$. The diving is very good and the company, Shark's friend, is very professional. The equipment is recent. The reef is 1.8 miles off shore. There are 34 dive sites. One of the sites visits a wreck where there are 3 bull sharks that are fed and that have been visited for the last 9 years. The beach is usually clean and cool, since it is made from limestone sand. Horseback riding on the beach is very pleasant and professional. A trip to nearby Playa Coco can be made by buggy and the locals can serve you "langustinas" - for 10 CUC You can get a beer for 1.15 CUC and rhum for 4 CUC. The discos that allow cubans are very lively.
