  • Understand

    Talk

Finnish is still spoken by some communities in the far Northeast (such as Finland)

    Get in

    By car, perhaps?

    Get around

Highway 61 goes from Duluth to Canada, and you can disregard the speed limit. There are no cops.

A superhighway exists between Finland and Gilbert, but one can only see it if they truly believe in the spirit of the range.

    See

    Ferrous terrain

    Fat women

    Dull-uth

    Do

    Go to the North Shore

    Eat

Iron rich foods in the Iron Range

    Taconite residue in Silver Bay

Knitting Knight, in Hibbing, is a pretty good restaurant.

    Drink

There is more beer drinking per capita in the Iron Range than in the Twin Cities.

    Stay safe

Don't get drawn and quartered by four ore-transport vessels while in Duluth.

Be very careful of walking on the ferrous soil in the range, one can easily slip

Don't attempt to get in a fight in a bar in the range, you will get beat up.

Don't wear "loud" clothing that identifies you as a city dweller if you are such. Just like in a Muslim country, one should attempt to blend in with the locals if one values their life. Wear a plaid shirt and speak with a ridiculously stereotypical provincial accent. Women should wear a long dress at all times.

Beavers are extraordinarily vicious in late March, especially towards loggers and Jews. What do you think happened to Hibbing's once-prosperous Jewish community...?

Beware of Ojibwa Indians in Cook County. There have been no notable massacres of recent, which is actually a good thing.

    Get out

    Quickly!
