'''Roehampton''' is a small village in the suburbs of South West London in England. Located here is the famous Roehampton University, Queen Mary's Hospital and The Priory (mental health hospital) and contains a section of Richmond Park.

Understand

Roehampton is an old village which suffered badly during the Second World War, with much of it being bombed. Roehampton is roughly devided between the old part and the new part, with much of the new part comprising of dense social housing, known as the Alton and the Lennox Estates. These areas have long been notorious for urban deprivation and high levels of crime, although the situation now is far better than it was due to large scale eviction, properties being let for students, and the large migration of Polish immigrants. By contrast, parts of Roehampton boast white coller residences and some highly exclusive housing.

Stay safe

Thankfully Roehampton is safer now than it use to be, however there are some areas which are best avoided particularly at night. This includes the Alton Estate, which is quite cut off and can be quite dark at night. Hooded youths should be avoided when possible and vigilance should be taken if on a bike or motorcyle. Bike and Motorcycle crime is a problem in Roehampton, and stolen abandoned bikes are quite a common sight. Walking alone at night should be avoided if possible. Try not to use your mobile phone if you decide to enter the Alton Estate.
