Eat
Michigans! A local favorite similar to a chili dog but a breed apart, the Michigan is sold in lots of places but Clare and Carl's on Rt. 9 near the Air Force Base is tops. It looks as if it will collapse if you look at it hard but you don't need to enter, it has car hops! The Michigan sauce varies from one establishment to another but it is always wise to order yours "with" (onions) and "buried" (the onions are under the chili and won't fall out). Chocolate milk is the favored accompaniment, or a Hires Root Beer is also a good choice.
Drink
'''Irises''', 20-22 City Hall Place, 518-566-7000, is a beautiful cafe and wine bar right downtown Plattsburgh.
