Get in

By plane

Some major airlines, Poland's national carriers [http://www.lot.com LOT Polish Airlines], and a low cost airline [http://www.centralwings.com Centralwings] (owned by LOT) and some other low cost airlines fly to Rzeszow's [http://www.lotnisko-rzeszow.pl Rzeszow-Jasionka] (RZE). Domestic flights operated by LOT (under Eurolot brand) connect Rzeszow with i.e. Warsaw's [http://www.lotnisko-chopina.pl/?lang=en Frederic Chopin Airport] (WAW). Jasionka International Airport is near Rzeszow. Public transport to and from the airport is a not very good, with only one private bus service, which does not run very often. It's better to a taxi, though this is more expensive. Direct connections (2007) exist to Warsaw, New York, London, Bristol and Dublin.

More flights go from Krakow which is only three hours by train from Rzeszow. Other airports are in Warsaw and Katowice.

By train

The Polish State Railways have train connections from Krakow and Lublin. There are also direct services to Lvov, Odessa and Kiev in the Ukraine.

Rzeszow is situated on the European route E40. You can easily get there by car from Krakow, Lublin and Sandomierz. Rzeszow is not served by any major motorways, though the A4 Motorway from Krakow is currently under construction and due to open before 2012.

By bus

Many international connections (see Poland::By bus).

Get around

The Old Town in city centre is small and easily manageable on foot. There are regular bus services from the centre to New Town and suburbs. Rzeszow also has a well developed network of cycle paths, though there is a lack of bicycle parking.
