Lampedusa is the most souther island of Italy located in the middle of the Mediterranean Sea. It has a popuplation of 5.800 and is 12km long but only 3kn wide. It has been inhabited by the Fenician, Greeks, Romans, Arabs and in 1860 it became part of the Kingdom of Italy.
