'''Subang Jaya''' is a suburban city of Kuala Lumpur, across the state line in Selangor. It's often referred to as '''USJ''', although technically this is only the southern half of the city.

Understand

Subang Jaya has adopted the numbered-block system also used in neighboring Petaling Jaya, so take a look at that article for clues about decrypting addresses. Roughly, Subang Jaya consists of blocks '''SS 12 through 19''' on the north side (the numbers increase as you head west) and blocks '''USJ 1 to 15''' on the south side (numbers increase to the south).

Get in

By train

KTM Subang Jaya station, on the KTM Komuter Klang-Sentul line, is at the northern edge of Subang Jaya.

By bus

There are an increasing number of bus services that connect points in Malaysia and Singapore directly to Subang Jaya, bypassing Kuala Lumpur and its traffic jams. Aeroline [http://www.aeroline.com.sg] and Transtar [http://www.transtar.com.sg] buses operate from Sunway Pyramid, while First Coach [http://www.firstcoach.com.my] runs from the Holiday Villa hotel.

By car

Getting in to Subang Jaya is a breeze, with the Federal Highway connecting it to central Kuala Lumpur, New Pantai Expressway (NPE) to Bangsar, North Klang Valley Expressway (NKVE) etc.

Get around

Public transport is limited to buses, which charge a flat RM 1 for trips around Subang Jaya and to eg. Puchong and Bandar Sunway. The buses are in blue & yellow. The routes are usually less than obvious, and odds are you'll need to ask for help from locals or the driver.

Taxis are also available, but the best way to get around is your own car.
