Mainpat is a small village in Chattisgarh state, Central India. Mainpat is more or less popular because of Tibetan Refugees living there for the last four or five decades.
Get around
Mainpat is about 45 km by road from Ambikapur. It takes about one and a half hours to reach due to poor road conditions in the last 30 km - more so in monsoon. Avoid driving after dusk.
See
The monastery in camp no.3 is worth seeing. Tourists tend to miss it as it is about two kilometres away from Camp 1.

Dhakpo Monastery. amp # 1, Mainpat. Dhakpo Monastery is a Gelug Monastery. Unlike the big monasteries in other bigger Tibetan Settlements in India and Nepal, monasteries in Maipat are fairly small.
Eat
There is only one small restaurant located in Camp no.1. You can get Chow Mein, Thukpa and momos.The food is tasty but Quantity cooked is very little and finishes fast.

There is no place to stay in Mainpat for tourists.
but there is a rest house of forest deprtment in mainpat onme can stay there with permission of government officials and police due to prone area of naxalites
