'''Tarutao National Marine Park''' [http://www.dnp.go.th/parkreserve/asp/style2/default.asp?npid=7&lg=2] comprises 51 islands in Satun Province, in southern Thailand.

Understand

Islands with permanent accommodation include the eponymous Ko Tarutao, Ko Adang, and the rapidly developing Ko Lipe. Ko Tarutao and Ko Adang feature park operated bungalows and campgrounds. Ko Lipe, outside the jurisdiction of the park, features numerous private accommodations.

History

Originally developed to house a prison, Ko Tarutao now is perhaps best known to American visitors as the setting of ''Survivor: Thailand'', the 5th US season of the popular reality TV drama.
